How long is each session?
For group tutoring, the typical session is 1 hour.
The length of a private tutoring session depends on the age of the student, attention span of the student, and goals for tutoring. It can be as short as 30 minutes but most sessions are 45 – 60 minutes.
Where do you tutor?
We meet our students at our learning center at 1934 Waukegan Road in Glenview.
Do you provide free assessments?
Local schools regularly test their students for achievement/growth as well as proficiency. In our opinion, giving a test in an unfamiliar environment will likely not provide an accurate assessment of the student’s ability/capability. Instead, we recommend using the information that is already available. As we get to work with your child, the regular contact/interaction gives a better determination of your child’s math ability.
When do you tutor?
Group tutoring is on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
We have flexible hours as well as weekend hours.
Can you help with school homework?
If the student regularly needs help with class material, it is better to sign up for private tutoring rather than group tutoring. Group tutoring is best suited for enrichment while private tutoring can address specific needs/goals.
Do you give homework?
We encourage and recommend extra practice through homework but we understand that this depends on the student’s availability and goals.
